Earthquake

Hi everyone! Just a quick update for those that have seen the news. Yes, there was in fact a 7.1 earthquake here early this morning. There isn't any damage and we are all safe and well! Most of the base actually didn't know it happened- mainly those of us who live up at the Brick House felt it. I was actually already awake around 4 this morning when it happened, and I legitimately thought that Natalie, who sleeps on the bunk below me, was somehow shaking the bed in her sleep (I wasn't fully awake, as evidenced by my thought process at the time.). According to our Kiwi's, earthquakes aren't uncommon in New Zealand, but this one was of a relatively large size. While no tsunami's have happened as far as I'm aware, even if one was to common, we live far enough away from the beach and high enough due to the hills, that we wouldn't be affected.
